GATE 2015 Exam Dates | Application Form

GATE 2015 is commonly known as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. The GATE exam is conducted by Indian Institute of Science and 7 Indian Institute of Technology (viz. IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee). The GATE is an all India examination conducted to test the understanding of candidate in UG engineering subject. The GATE examination is conducted for the students seeking admission into post-graduate engineering programme. Candidates are admitted to the post-graduate engineering course on the basis of marks scored in the GATE examination. The GATE 2015 is organized by IIT Kharagpur. GATE 2015 Paper Pattern

Pattern of Question Papers

  • In all the papers, there will be a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks, out of which 10 questions carrying a total of 15 marks are in General Aptitude (GA).
  • In the papers bearing the codes AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, IN, ME, MN, MT, PI, TF and XE, the Engineering Mathematics will carry around 13% of the total marks, the General Aptitude section will carry 15% of the total marks and the remaining percentage of the total marks is devoted to the subject of the paper.
  • In the papers bearing the codes AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH and XL, the General Aptitude section will carry 15% of the total marks and the remaining 85% of the total marks is devoted to the subject of the paper.

Marking Scheme
For 1-mark multiple-choice questions, 1/3 marks will be deducted for a wrong answer. Likewise, for2-marks multiple-choice questions, 2/3 marks will be deducted for a wrong answer. There is no negative marking for numerical answer type questions.

General Aptitude (GA) Questions
In all papers, GA questions carry a total of 15 marks. The GA section includes 5 questions carrying 1 mark each (sub-total 5 marks) and 5 questions carrying 2 marks each (sub-total 10 marks).

Question Papers other than GG, XE and XL
These papers would contain 25 questions carrying 1 mark each (sub-total 25 marks) and 30 questions carrying 2 marks each (sub-total 60 marks). The question paper will consist of questions of multiple choice and numerical answer type. For numerical answer questions, choices will not be given. Candidates have to enter the answer (which will be a real number, signed or unsigned, e.g. 25.06, -25.06, 25, -25 etc.) using a virtual keypad. An appropriate range will be considered while evaluating the numerical answer type questions so that the candidate is not penalized due to the usual round-off errors.

GG (Geology and Geophysics) Paper

  • Apart from the General Aptitude (GA) section, the GG question paper consists of two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A is common for all candidates. Part B contains two sections: Section 1 (Geology) and Section 2 (Geo-physics). Candidates will have to attempt questions in Part A and either Section 1 or Section 2 in Part B.
  • Part A consists of 25 multiple-choice questions carrying 1-mark each (sub-total 25 marks and some of these may be numerical answer type questions). Each section in Part B (Section 1 and Section 2) consists of 30 multiple choice questions carrying 2 marks each (sub-total 60 marks and some of these may be numerical answer type questions).

XE Paper (Engineering Sciences)

  • In XE paper, Engineering Mathematics section (Section A) is compulsory. This section contains 11 questions carrying a total of 15 marks: 7 questions carrying 1 mark each (sub-total 7 marks), and 4 questions carrying 2 marks each (sub-total 8 marks). Some questions may be of numerical answer type questions.
  • Each of the other sections of the XE paper (Sections B through G) contains 22 questions carrying a total of 35 marks: 9 questions carrying 1 mark each (sub-total 9 marks) and 13 questions carrying 2 marks each (sub-total 26 marks). Some questions may be of numerical answer type.

XL Paper (Life Sciences)

  • In XL paper, Chemistry section (Section H) is compulsory. This section contains 15 questions carrying a total of 25 marks: 5 questions carrying 1 mark each (sub-total 5 marks) and 10 questions carrying 2-marks each (sub-total 20 marks). Some questions may be of numerical answer type.
  • Each of the other sections of the XL paper (Sections I through M) contains 20 questions carrying a total of 30 marks: 10 questions carrying 1 mark each (sub-total 10 marks) and 10 questions carrying 2 marks each (sub-total 20 marks). Some questions may be of numerical answer type.

About ENAT 2015 Exam

ENAT 2015 is commonly known as ESPI National Admission Test. ENAT is conducted by Manipal Institute of Technology. ENAT is an Online Combined National Admission Test conducted for the students seeking admission into under-graduate and post-graduate engineering courses offered by the University. Candidates will be selected for engineering courses on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance exam. Admission to the engineering courses will be done on the basis of rank obtained in the entrance exam. ENAT entrance exam has a unique feature that it shows the examinees their score immediately as soon as they conclude the last examination of the test. The ENAT 2015 Entrance Exam usually starts from mid of April and end till mid of May 2015.

ENAT 2015 Eligibility

  • Age: – The date of birth of candidate should fall on or before 31st December 1992
  • Qualification: – Candidates should have pass 10 + 2 (i.e. HSC Exam in Science) or its equivalent
  • Only Indian Nationals are eligible to Apply

The candidates who are applying for Lateral BTech will have a test that consists of two sections:

ENAT 2015 Registration

  • The applicant can apply either online or offline. In the online method, the applicant has to provide the basic information, give personal details and photograph and make the payment through credit or debit card.
  • In the offline mode, the applicant has to provide the basic information and download the form. The completed form must be submitted to the office before the last date along with the necessary documents and the fees (in Demand Draft).
  • Application Fees for Manipal ENAT 2014 is Rs.600/- application fee and Rs.1000/- entrance test fee.

BITSAT 2015 is commonly known as BITS Admission Test. Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) conduct this computer based online test for the students seeking admission into the Integrated First Degree programmes. Candidates will be admitted to the Integrated First Degree programme on the basis of merit position prepared on the basis of their scores obtained in the BITSAT Exam. BITSAT 2015 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must have cleared Class XII (or its equivalent examination) from a state or central recognized education board with Physics, Math and Chemistry.
  • Minimum aggregate of marks in Class XII in PCM stream is 75% and 60% each in Physics, Math and Chemistry.
  • Candidates with qualifying examination passing year as 2012 or earlier are ineligible.
  • Candidates presently studying in any of the three campus are ineligible for BITSAT 2014.
  • Admissions would be based on merit score obtained in BITSAT 2014 and Class XII.
  • Direct admission would be given to all the toppers of their respective boards regardless of the eligibility criteria.

BITSAT 2015 Eligibility Criteria

If the scores of two candidates are same then:
i)    Their scores in Mathematics/Biology (For B.Pharm) in BITSAT will be considered for separating them.
ii)    If tie still exists, then their scores in Physics in BITSAT will be considered for separating them.
iii)    Scores in Chemistry can be used for settling the tie.
iv)    Finally, their PCM/PCB (For B.Pharm) total marks in 12th examination will be considered for their separation.

AIEEE 2015 is commonly known as All India Engineering Entrance Examination. AIEEE is a national level competitive exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). RULET 2014 is also called as Rajasthan University Law Entrance Test. RULET is a state level law entrance examination, organized by University of Rajasthan for the students who aspires to take admission into first year law programs offered at the University and its various affiliated colleges. The University of Rajasthan offers various courses in a number of disciplines, at different degree and diploma level. University of Rajasthan holds the distinction of being accredited A+ by NAAC, India.

RULET 2014 Eligibility

Candidate must have passed the higher secondary 10 + 2 qualifying examination from a recognized institution and a recognized Board of Examination with not less than 50% aggregate in any respective field. (45% for SC/ ST)
